Disabled American Veterans Chilton Chapter 33 will meet at 11 a.m. and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 33 will meet at noon on the 2nd Saturday of the month at the Senior Connection Facility at 304 Park Plaza in Clanton (next to Farmers Home Furniture). Any interested veteran & family members are invited to attend. The veteran in your family does not have to be disabled for you to participate. If you are looking to support the veteran in your community and help veterans in need, the DAV Chapter & DAV Auxiliary Unit are the places for you. The 25th Annual BeeKeeping Symposium will be held on Feb. 1 at the Clanton Conference & Performing Arts Center, 1850 Lay Dam Road, Clanton, Alabama, 8 a.m. -4:30 p.m.
Beekeepers, both experienced and novice, looking for more information about beekeeping should make plans to attend the 25th Annual Beekeeping Symposium in Clanton. The symposium will feature several specialists, agents, and experienced beekeepers presenting a variety of information about managing, producing and running a bee operation. Chilton Area Vegetable Production Meeting and Farmers Market Nutrition Program Training will be held at the Jemison Municipal Building from 9 a.m. to noon. Growers can recertify for the SFMNP program as well as gain new insight into new developments in commercial vegetable production. Private Pesticide Applicator Training will be held at the Chilton County Extension Office beginning at 9:00am. The training session will conclude with testing. There is a $20 fee for the class as well as the $25 fee for the License. Preregistration is required as space is limited. Call the Chilton County Extension Office at 205.280.6268 to register.

Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP) will be offered in a series of six different classes that will cover diabetes, how it affects the body, nutrition for diabetics, exercise, medications and complications of diabetes.
